If your traveling in Arizona set aside at least a week or more to experience Lake Powell. Its about a 5 hour drive north of Phoenix through Flagstaff and out the other side. To truly experience the unique landscape and water ways of the lake its advisable to book a houseboat trip.
Houseboat, power boats and jet ski rentals available but recommend booking months in advance.
Lake Powell runs through 2 states, Arizona and Utah and has over 18,000 miles of shoreline with beautiful canyon lands, large rock formations, unique caves, campsites and hiking trails.
Best time to travel to Lake Powell is April through October. Heads up though temperatures can reach the triple digits and on high wind days the lake can get very rough. Not to worry though its easy to find a cove to pull into.
