El Yunque National Forest is a tropical rain forrest not far from Fajardo. People are drawn to the forest to experience the beautiful waterfalls, birds, tree frogs, camping and hiking trails. Although, theres a slim chance that you’ll actually see any wild life, El Yunque is very unique with many great places for picnics, photo ops, and waterholes to swim in. Its about a 5 mile ride to the top with many scenic viewing areas to pull into. Make a day of it and pack some food and drinks because theres not much available on the ride up the mountain. If your into ziplining there are tours you can book in advance. Always be prepared for short rain showers.
